Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than sharing a picture of Colleen Moore? Between 1923 and 1931, the Irish-American actress was a top ten money-making star eight times. A good number of her movies contained Irish themes or at least her playing an Irish lass. They include DINTY (1920), COME ON OVER (1922), APRIL SHOWERS (1923), IRENE (1926), and SMILING IRISH EYES (1929). The last film is considered lost, which is a pity as it’s a Vitaphone pre-code musical, but its discs exist, and its theme song lives on after having been covered by artists such as Maurice Elwin. Below is a lovely tribute video to Colleen with his version as the soundtrack.
